PSYCHOTHERAPY, COACHING/CONSULTATION, ART THERAPY, CLINICAL SUPERVISOR, WORKSHOP FACILITATOR

Elizabeth Webster, MA, LPC, ATR, BFA (She/Her)

Elizabeth, or "Ms. Liz", is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist, earning a dual Master of Arts degree in Clinical Counseling and Art Therapy from Wayne State University.

Elizabeth knows firsthand how beautiful and difficult it can be to experience the world differently than others. As someone who was always considered "sensitive", she had found that her passion is to help those who are looking to bring more clarity, understanding and acceptance of self into their lives.

As a formally trained artist and fellow creative, Elizabeth also understands the internal/external pressure artists often experience that often lead to burnout and potentially “artist block”.

“I’m here to help those who have been called, or might consider themselves a "highly-sensitive" individual. The sensitivity might be a result from experiencing trauma, or due to sensory processing difficulties. Specifically, I have experience and a passion to support those with Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorders, and Chronic Illnesses. In therapy, clients are looking for a safe space to process their life experiences. As a late diagnosed and identified neurodivergent therapist, my goal is to empower my client who may experience the world in this beautiful and "different" way.”

Feeling different, misunderstood or constantly camouflaging for others can lead to feelings of shame, isolation and avoidance. Elizabeth aims to support individuals continue with their self-exploration; to build confidence, seek possible accommodations, manage any related chronic illness, and to identify coping strategies for when life feels a bit too much.

No two people are alike, especially when involving individual needs and concerns. Being a “neurodivergent" advocate, counselor and credentialed Art Therapist, allows Elizabeth to work with a personal understanding with those who may need a non-traditional approach in therapy or work-place dynamics; because some days we need to create and other days we need to regulate!

In addition to providing psychotherapy, presentations and coaching services, Elizabeth provides Clinical Supervision for limited licensed professional counselors and provisional art therapists in the state of Michigan.

"I believe that any therapeutic process or relationship is fostered by building upon a trusting and empathetic relationship. Establishing rapport helps me better understand presenting concerns and the individual that I am working with. Change is hard, even if it is a “positive” one, and seeking help can be intimidating. You are here, and that in itself is brave. I believe having a person to process life with, that has no biased opinions and a lending ear, can be a validating and empowering experience. I aim to provide a safe space and be my client’s confidant. As your therapist, I hope I can be that person."
